I had php5.5 and I had no problem with installing xdebug. I installed php56 with homebrew. I followed this from http://xdebug.org/wizard.php. Download xdebug-2.3.2.tgz As part of its output it should show: Configuring for: Run: ./configure |

There is no sign of xdebug in phpinfo.php. |
