Summary	0002031: Install fails on Mac with M1 chip
Description	I have tried to install the latest version via pecl on a MacBook with the new M1 chip and it fails very time. I have tried all the following: pecl install xdebug arch -x86_64 sudo pecl install xdebug arch -x86_64 pecl install xdebug sudo pecl install xdebug arch -arm64e sudo pecl install xdebug arch -arm64 sudo pecl install xdebug and each one fails with the same error: checking build system type... Invalid configuration `arm64-apple-darwin20.6.0': machine`arm64-apple' not recognized configure: error: /bin/sh /private/tmp/pear/temp/xdebug/build/config.sub arm64-apple-darwin20.6.0 failed ERROR: `/private/tmp/pear/temp/xdebug/configure --with-php-config=/opt/homebrew/opt/php@7.4/bin/php-config' failed php is installed via homebrew.

derick 2021-10-07 16:16 administrator ~0006090	Hi, This seems to be an issue with PHP's build system, and not Xdebug itself. I've just fixed this in PHP for PHP 7.4.26 and PHP 8.0.13 and later. The PHP 8.1 RCs should already work. For PHP 7.4: https://github.com/php/php-src/commit/89dfe4932146b7c0b19c52cba2a9536204ae9402 You can work around it by replacing config.sub and config.guess in /opt/homebrew/opt/php@7.4/lib/php/build with: https://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/config.git/plain/config.sub and https://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/config.git/plain/config.guess cheers, Derick

andyclyde 2021-10-08 07:56 reporter ~0006098	Thanks for the quick response! That worked once I upgraded to 7.4.24 via brew. For some reason some of the brew symlinks were broken on my 7.4.19 install.
